The Bothy is where Raphael Callaghan got his start in live music - playing harmonica for singer Jim James - in 1966! Raphael is bound to include anecdotes about Jim in this full guest appearance at the club, with the sad news that Jim passed away in September. The Groundhog Blues Club honours the memory of Tony McPhee, guitarist and leader of the Groundhogs. Tony produced the first recordings of Raphael Callaghan in 1969 so he's pleased to be asked to open tonight's intimate show, starring the hard-working band the Worried Men. Doors 7pm\, music 7.30pm prompt, 10pm finish. Suggested donation £5 on the door. Venue is the Wrekin Arms, Wellington, Telford, Shropshire TF1 1RH. |
